Dr. Matthias Mrożewski is an Assistant Professor at ESCP Business School Berlin, where he heads the Chair for International Entrepreneurship. The mission of the Chair is not only to conduct state-of-the-art research on international entrepreneurship but also to inspire students with the vision inherent in international entrepreneurship, heightening their awareness of the entrepreneurial opportunities arising from their diverse backgrounds and international experiences. He is also the Academic Director of the Option E specialization in the Master in Management programme. The research of Prof. Mrożewski focuses on topics such as entrepreneurial decision-making, migration, culture and entrepreneurship, and regional and country-level entrepreneurship and innovation. His work has been published in outlets such as Small Business Economics, Journal of Technology Transfer, Project Management Journal, International Journal of Innovation Management, and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal. Prof. Mrożewski has successfully supervised two doctoral students to completion and serves as a regular reviewer. Prof. Mrożewski is also the project leader of the start-up development concept “ESCP BEST Place” (Building European Startups), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy within the highly competitive funding scheme EXIST Potentiale. The project aims to expand the entrepreneurship potential of ESCP and develop the European incubation ecosystem to support start-ups in their internationalisation efforts. Prof. Mrożewski received his doctoral degree from Technische Universität Berlin, a member of the EXIST university network, and has been part of the team at the TU Centre for Entrepreneurship, involved in numerous EXIST proposals and projects. He was also the Programme Manager for the “Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship” Master's and a visiting researcher at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford.
